The CGV day 13

First up - Jen is up and walking with out the sticks and was able to compete in her pairs match this morning. Phew. She is well on the road to recovery and is doing well. We all say well done Jen.
Today was the Pairs matches in both Mens and Women’s 10m air rifle events. Our Pairs of Jenny and Sian Corish, and Jon Croydon and Martyn Blake both acquitted themselves very well. Both pairs shot well, though maybe none were over the moon about their scores. Both events were won by a very strong team from India.

From a personal point of view I had training today in preparation for the prone pairs match tomorrow. I went well I felt, again focusing on quality of shooting and not quantity of shots fired. My left shoulder is holding up well the stress and strains of shooting, though getting the jacket on and off can be a bit of an issue, oh well!! I'm feeling a little nervous (to be expected) but i'm confidant and possitive about mine and Griff's shooting. Watch this space and fingers crossed!!!!!

Pictures time!!!!!

Jo and Ceri meet Alun Pugh (Labour - Clwyd West) Minister for Culture, Welsh Language and Sport.

We're hoping for a new range!!! (hint hint)

If you are wondering why no one is looking at the camera, this may help the understanding!!

He's a pro so its onlt fair I guess..

Jo, Ceri and Alun in mid conversation. (hope you were polite Ladies??)

There have questions regarding security here at the CGV and also at the ranges since we arrived here. As I have said in the past securtiy is tight here and everywhere to do with the games, but they obviously have a manual rather than common sense. I'll let the following pictures explain....

This is the sign outside the range we were reading when arriving there for the first time....

Ok folks thats all....

Speak tomorrow and hopefully the pics I've been waiting for. Lets hope and trust in the training and effort of the lead up to these moments. Cheers.

Dave

Lol, amusing pics! Glad Jen is ok to shoot! Good to hear training went well. Not much news this end - just proposals to write, dissertations to mark!! (not mine obviously!!), and more. St. Pats day and we have a live band at the Disc - should be amusing! Lotsa love and luck, Rachie xxx

Hi dave, i like the pics, and the cartoons, however i don't understand how/why firearms are not allowd in the range???? isn't that going to make the competition a little difficult, lol. anyway good luck for today/tomorrow. Phil. p.s. why did everyone remove the team wales patches from there suits in the opening???

Love the pictures, especially the green sign banning everything under the sun. Still trying to work out how you would fit a bicycle in your pocket... Answers on a postcard.

Good luck to Dave and Griff in the pairs tomorrow/today (depending where you are in the world). Let's hope you finish so high up on the podium that your ears pop.

Dave - how do you get the credit for the cartoons I created?

However both you and Griff deserve the credit for an excellent Bronze! Well done.
