Today was the first time I have fired a shot from my rifle for over 2 weeks, everyone (including myself) will be glad to hear it went very well, all 20 shots!! Will be building up the quantity of shots over the next few days, today was all about ensuring QUALITY!! - Pictures of the range in the next few days.
Today has been quite pleasent, warm with some cloud cover and a nice breaze to make us all feel a bit more at home temperature wise (low 20's - Ha Ha)
The CGV continued......
All the houses in use at the CGV will be re-finished at the end of the games to the original planned specification, ie fewer but bigger rooms along with garages and kitchens. Nearly all the houses have already been sold, prior to the start of the games, as private residents houses and have been going for between $600,000 and $1,250,000 (Ausie $) They are really well spaced and they all seem a little different from the outside. The other reason they command a high price tag is that these are the only houses being, or planned to be built this close to Melbourne center for a while.
To illustrate the security...
Here are the 100 Internet access PC's Including laptop stations for WiFi.
The XBOX 360 lounge, all networked, all with huge flat screen TV's (and beanbags)
Here is one of 12 recourse centers. Located at these are the wash facilities, 2 internet access PC's, huge flat screen TV's, hot drinks and snacks and some are WiFi enabled. Sadly the one nearest to me is not enabled.
The machines outside each of these provide the athletes and helpers of CGV with access to water and other chilled drinks 24/7 free, with the use of a dollar sized token.
A random strange building in the CGV???
The Whole of the CGV is a "SMOKE FREE ZONE", bummer for those who may wish to smoke, yet look what are placed outside the back of every recourse center!!!!
Ha Ha - good old Ausies. Make a rule and then bend it so far to accomodate. The phrase I heard numerous times whilst investigating this discrepancy in the CGV rules and regs was "turning a blind eye". The question this then poses is: What else do they turn a blind eye to?? - Alcohol for one!!! (got a bottle of vodka here no probs )
The duvet you have seen on the beds we are allowed to keep and will be returning back to the UK with us, obviously if there are some left over, MIA, or lost, they to could return also, maybe?
Write again soon guys.
Dave

Food, fags, vodka and pool? sounds more like a holiday to me!
All you gotta do now is do some sightseeing and hey, you're a real tourist!
Keep 'em quality all the way. nails will be bitten and hair torn out (well not yours anyway). Bob
I agree with Bob. Are you actually there for a reason or is it just a months jolly? I know you need to relax but I am SOOOO JEALOUS of the X-box 360 lounge!
Good to here that despite the vodka your first practice went well and no matter what anyone tells you, playing pool is a valid form of target practice.
Have fun (but not too much)
J
