Another day, another story... I had to visit this place early in the morning to get a supply of antibiotics for a nasty deep blister on the bottom of my foot just behind my toes. Its not to serious (painful though!!), just slowing me down more than I usually walk!!
I saw rain for the first time in ages today; it was at the range (typical) and lasted for about 2 mins if that. Otherwise overcast and comfortably warm
Nevermind that, here we start with some views of the 50m .22 range situated in Port Melbourne, about 35 min coach ride from the CGV.
Here is the 50m range.
As you can see space here is at a premium. I'm not sure where the hordes of spectators are supposed to watch from??
A "prone shooter eye view" of the range
Can get a bit windy from time to time!!
Some can still cope though!! My screen from my training today
The targets here automatically clear the screan after every 10 shots, theres quite a delay of a few nerve wracking seconds before the next shot is drawn on the screen!
Screens, controls and boxes.
There is one of these boxes on every firing point, their purpose is to provide storage of the screen and target control button when not in use. They also double as a handy table and bench for setup or use during your match as seen in the next picture.

This is our pair of athletes competing in both the Mens 3 position and Mens air rifle events.
I will try to get round to the rest of the range tommorrow and will try to get more pics of the rest of the shooting team over the course of the games.
Yesterdays quote of the day "Griff - check the safety catch" as he franticly dismantles his rifle, bits flying all over the place, in responce to the fact it wouldn't work!!! OOOOPS
Once again hope you all enjoyed this update, and watch this space.....
