The CGV Melbourne 2006

The quote of the day in generall has been "Betty!!", or in more polite circles "it aint half hot mum!!" Yes its been another scorcher for our fist day without air-conditioning.
The Village is a huge brand new residential area that is completely secured and sectioned of from the general public. To get in here you go through the same sort of checks like you would in an airport. There are police and security staff patroling the village and located at certain areas, quite comforting they think that much of us!!
Here are the first pictures from the Commonwealth Games Village, Melbourne 2006. There will be many more to come I promise.

This is our (shooters) house

The street we are on

Our (Griff and Myself) room

From another angle..

The important areas of the Village...

Hmmmmm Yum Yum

This place is really big

And all you see is FREEEEE!!!!!

Some more of the seating in the food hall.

So far our concencus of the food is that its quite reasonable. Good variety available, from pasta to Asian food and most areas inbetween. There unlimited bottled water and other bottled drinks, and ICE CREAMS!!!!

Another Eatery we found (good coffee here)

Say no more!!!!

There are plenty more areas to explore and photgraph, but I will save those for another post. Enjoy and goodnight!
Dave

Back off porky there's no time to get you a new shooting jacket! Just cos its free don't mean you gotta eat it all!
Nice house though; coming back?

Hi, the village seems amazing; my wallet is now aching at the prospect of the 2012 Olympics. Those poor Australian taxpayers, lol.

What happens to the village and the houses etc, once the games are over?
